31 March to April 4, our colleagues Paul Froemel (Photonic Tools) and Tamara Delgado (AIMEN) were installing the beam delivery modules developed by Photonic Tools in the AIMEN laboratory dedicated to the OPeraTIC project.
These modules consist of:
- Beam Launching System (BLS): optical module for preparing the laser beam to be guided through the optical fibre.
- Light cable: polarization maintaining fibre.
- Collimation module: optical module at the end of the fibre to obtain a collimated laser beam with a beam diameter of 5-6 mm.
These beam delivery modules were successfully combined with the OPeraTIC high-power picosecond laser source and are ready for the next step: to be combined with the Direct Laser Writing module designed for QiOVA for our OPeraTIC machine.
