On 21 May, we presented the latest progress of OPeraTIC at our Technical Review Meeting with the European Commission. Where are we now? With around 7 months to go, the project is entering its final phase with strong progress across all technical areas.
Process investigations are completed, delivering promising results such as antifriction surfaces, wetting control, improved paintability, and new approaches for light homogenisation and precision cutting. Installation of the mechanical unit and integration of the final OPeraTIC prototype is on schedule and will be finalized by early September. Significant advances in AI are enabling improved process prediction and optimisation.
Sustainability and impact activities are progressing strongly, including lifecycle and cost assessments, user perception analysis, and the industrialisation roadmap. Demonstrators across multiple sectors are taking shape, showcasing OPeraTIC’s potential for
real industrial applications.
