European Symposium on Ultrafast Laser driven Biophotonics (ESULAB 2024)

15 - 18 September 2024

3rd European Symposium on Ultrafast Laser driven Biophotonics

For the third time, the European Symposium on Ultrafast Laser-driven Biophotonics (ESULaB) will create an important platform for professional exchange between scientists from different fields, including physicists, chemists, engineers, material scientists, biologists, biomedical scientists and industry representatives. Taking place this September in Jena, Germany, this event promises to provide participants with up-to-date insights into trends and future perspectives that will inspire their own research.

The focus is on the latest advances and developments in the field of spectroscopy and imaging, which are realized through the use of ultrashort laser pulses and contribute to solving biophotonic problems. The broad range of topics includes nonlinear imaging techniques such as SHG/THG microscopy and coherent Raman microscopy for medical diagnostics, high-resolution imaging of biological structures using nonlinear phenomena (e.g. STED microscopy), as well as the use of wavelengths in the EUV/X-Ray range and ultrafast time-resolved spectroscopy for the study of biological systems, including the dynamics of protein folding using 2D spectroscopy. At the same time, the translation of new diagnostic and biomedical approaches to market introduction and practical application is a key issue.

You can look forward to more than 20 lectures by outstanding scientists in the field of nonlinear biophotonics, who will present their research. An industry forum as a central part of the conference will again provide plenty of space for professional exchange of views, stimulating discussions and networking. Users will be presented with the latest technical innovations in the fields of infrared, Raman and terahertz spectroscopy as well as X-ray and EUV microscopy.
